Hi, I’m the upper cervical chiropractor from Georgia, Dr. Nick Tedder, and today I want to share with you a history of one of my patients to help you understand how upper cervical chiropractor care helps to control both mild vertigo dizziness and very severe cases of this condition.

Vertigo is defined as a sense of dizziness or spinning, and it is usually associated with nausea, vomiting, and sweating. Surely you have heard that vertigo treatment depends on the cause, and it is totally true, but upper cervical chiropractic cares are an excellent option for many types of vertigo. For example, BPPV is caused by an abnormal position or clump of the canaliths in your inner ear, which alters the information about the position of your head and the information transmitted to the brain. So, chiropractor treatments to realign the upper neck can relocate the canaliths to their normal position, decreasing the symptoms.
Likewise, vertigo crises caused by neck and head injuries are also due to an abnormal movement of the canaliths by the trauma, so chiropractic care might relocate them to their normal place and help you restore your daily activities. When your upper neck is not aligned, your balance is also affected, so even when your canaliths are well-positioned, you can experience dizziness and other concomitant symptoms.
An abnormal communication between your limbs and your brain can also produce disequilibrium, which is especially important in the nerves that must travel through the neck. On the other hand, if your dizziness is a symptom of Meniere’s disease, it must be due to a brainstem's bad functioning. It also explains why an upper cervical chiropractor treatment is an excellent treatment for your condition.
Although the cause of Méniere’s disease is still unknown, the experts believe that an external compression of your brainstem, like an upper neck misalignment, can produce dizziness and other symptoms of Meniere’s disease. In fact, this was the problem we found in Bianka, excessive pressure on the brainstem.
