Meniere’s disease can be frustrating to cope with. It is known for:

  • Severe vertigo attacks
  • Tinnitus – ringing in the ears
  • Hearing loss
  • Congestion in the affected ear

Meniere’s is a condition of the inner ear. The inner ear has two vital roles: hearing and balance. If one has Meniere’s disease, hearing and balance are impacted. Why this occurs is still uncertain among researchers and medical professionals. However, it has been agreed upon that the problem may be linked to a misalignment of the upper bones in the neck. This is a good thing because it is a problem that can be corrected.

Finding Help for Meniere’s Disease

A study was conducted observing 300 Meniere’s patients. One surprising result was that it took an average of 15 years for the symptoms of Meniere’s to arise after the accident causing the misalignment. All 300 had a misalignment in the bones of the upper cervical spine and received adjustments by an upper cervical chiropractor. The results? 97% of them saw a huge improvement in vertigo – the hardest symptom of Meniere’s to cope with.

The inner ear lies in close proximity to the vertebrae of the neck, particularly the C1 and C2. These bones have the responsibility of protecting the brainstem. The brainstem relays messages to and from the brain and body. If a misalignment has occurred in the upper vertebrae, signals sent can become hindered.

If the brain receives a faulty signal about where the body is located, Meniere’s can be the end result. Also, the close proximity of the atlas to the ears can lead a lesion on the Eustachian tube that drains fluid away from the ears. The excess fluid leads to Meniere’s symptoms.

Misalignments can occur due to minor injuries, such as whiplash, or even trip and fall accidents. As noted in the above study, it can take many years for the result of such an incident to become manifest. Visiting our office here at Dacula, Georgia can be the first step in finding relief.

We use a method that is gentle and precisely focuses on the location of the misalignment. Once realigned, communication is restored and damage is repaired, often helping with the symptoms of Meniere’s disease.
